Stewart Smith

Research Fellow

I am a postdoctoral researcher with the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems (IMNS), based at the Scottish Microelectronics Centre (SMC).

I was appointed to an RCUK Academic Fellowship in the field of biomedical engineering in 2007 and am interested in developing mulidisciplinary research in this area. I am part of the Centre for Biomedical Engineering at Edinburgh (CBEE) which brings together researchers from the School of Engineering and the College of Medicine and Vetrinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.

On the 20th of May 2008 the CBEE hosted a one day meeting on the subject of Sensors and Actuators for Biomedical Applications, more information on this can be found at this link.

I completed my PhD on the topic of microelectronic test structures in July 2003. More information about test structures research within the IMNS can be found here.

The final version of my PhD thesis can be downloaded here, it is entitled "Sheet Resistance and Electrical Linewidth Test Structures for Semiconductor Process Characterisation".
