Folding bike racing

I entered the 2010 Edinburgh Nocturne on my Brompton. The race was great fun, and the course was pretty gruelling.  A video from the helmet camera (well, tie pin camera in this case) I wore is featured below.

Xtracycle

Steven's Xtracycle
This has to be the best bike accessory I've ever bought! It extends the wheelbase of your bike and adds side bags, straps and a rear platform so you can carry all kinds of stuff. So far, I've carried
  • another person on the back - I've now fitted a cushion and rear handlebars to make it more comfortable
  • shopping - four big bags, easily
  • computers - you can easily fit a desktop machine into each side bag
  • sacks of compost
  • a trombone
  • a mountain bike (well, technically I towed it by lifting the front wheel into a side bag and tying it on with a luggage strap)
  • two pallets (stood on their ends on the WideLoader attachments)
  • a single bed base (seriously).
