Rupert Annuals

Here are images of all the Annual covers - in separate files, as they take a while to download all at once.

You will notice that Rupert appears with a brown face on all but one of them - so brown-faced Rupert Annuals are not especially valuable unless they are the 1973 (for more on this issue, please see our "Frequently-Asked Questions" page).

If I had a fiver for every email that began "I have this brown-faced Rupert Annual and I'm sure it's really valuable ..." I'd be richer than Bill Gates.

What is true of all Rupert Annuals is that they are miniature masterpieces of childrens' literature - full of magic, mystery, fun, memorable characters and truly beautiful illustrations. Rupert afficionados almost all have favourite Annuals.  These are generally pre-1960, Bestall artwork. All Rupert Annuals, however, are beautiful books, with a consistency of look, quality and style that is astonishing.

Those marked with an asterisk (*) have been reproduced over the years as facsimiles. The most recent are still available in (new) booksellers and the older ones from Rupert dealers and second-hand bookshops. They are all beautiful and important books.
