Alan Murray is Professor of Neural Electronics and Head of the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems (IMNS) - a diverse, vigorous and lively collection of researchers. Alan's primary research interest since 1985 has been Neural Networks and associated mixed-mode VLSI hardware. Recently his interests have moved closer to biology, in the form of neuromorphic VLSI and work on the interface between silicon and biology, although he continues to work on probabilistic machine-learning architectures for computation in deep-sub-micron silicon.
