BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering
The BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering is designed to equip students
with a good background
knowledge and understanding of physical processes so that
'models' of the real world can be built and used to predict its
behaviour. These models can be conceptual, mathematical, computational or
experimental. The programme also aims to develop professional skills.
These are used more and more as the final year of study approaches
so that they can, on graduating, join a design, production or
research team.
The BEng and MEng degree courses in Mechanical Engineering have a
common structure
in the early years with the core subjects of Mathematics,
and Mechanical Engineering. In the later years of the course specialist
subjects are taught including Solid Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics and
Mechatronics to name but a few.
Full details, including typical entrance requirements, can be found in the
course flyer.
