Jeffrey Steynor, winner of The Oil Scholarship, Bermuda
Jeffrey Steynor, a 2nd year student in the School of Engineering and Electronics, is only one of two people awarded The Oil Scholarship in Bermuda.
This award is granted by the Oil Group of Companies to two Bermudian students involved in either undergraduate or graduate study. The scholarship was for $25,000 to help him continue his studies at Edinburgh. There were between 10 - to 15 entrants in the non-race, which was followed by an interview to determine the successful applicants.

In 2004 and 2005 this School has secured half of the Royal Society of Edinburgh awards for student travel to facilitate working for several months in overseas universities, research institutes and industrial companies.

The School of Engineering and Electronics has been selected as one of only four U.K. Engineering Departments to receive Royal Academy of Engineering monies on a pilot scheme to support new Integrated Systems Engineering undergraduate teaching.

Professor Michael Rotter elected to Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh |
We are delighted to announce Professor Michael Rotter has been elected to Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in recognition of his outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of Civil Engineering.
This honour comes on top of Professor Rotter's election as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2004.
