PhD Project:

The Fire Performance of Restrained Polymer-Fibre-Reinforced Composite Slabs

This project seeks to evaluate the behaviour of composite slabs reinforced with polymer macro-fibres in a post-flashover fire event. The results will be assessed against traditional steel-reinforced slab behaviour. The research will focus on several variables, including the amount of lateral and rotational restraint provided and the thermal gradient applied to the slab. An expected outcome of the project is a set of design tools for the computational modelling of polymer-fibre-reinforced concrete.
