School IT Helpline and Helpdesk Help Request Form The Eng IT Help Desk is located in the Alrick Building, room A116 and is open between 1000 - 1200 & 1400 - 1600 (except Wednesday afternoons). IS run Laptop Clinics at the central campus and at KB. Please use these clinics for problems with personal laptops (except for questions about accessing Eng file store etc). Problems with School laptops should first be referred to us via the IT Helpline. More information about the clinics is available here.

IT News
- Windows 7 and Office 2010: The University roll out for Staff and PGs PCs has been delayed. Our deployment to Staff/PGs will be looked at after the Teaching software has settled in. More information will be made available as the projects progress.
- TLA/TLB/TLD/TLG: PCs in these labs can run both Linux and Windows 7, please see instructions in the labs about how to login (do NOT reboot them); TLC: Is Linux only (do NOT reboot them); TLF: Is Windows only.
- IS ECDF Compute Resource: Researchers are encouraged to use the ECDF compute resource. Engineering specific information on "free" and "charged" usage is available here.
- ECDF run courses which help users make better use of cluster computers. Further details and booking instructions are available on the ECDF wiki here
