Innovative Learning Week 2012

Welcome to the website for the School of Engineering's Innovative Learning Week Programme, which runs from Monday 20 to Friday 24 February 2012.

In this, the first year of Innovative Learning Week (ILW), the School have put together a varied programme of activities designed either to give you more space and time to concentrate on a particular part of your studies, or to give you the opportunity to reflect on your learning and acquire new skills.

During ILW all normal classes are suspended, and you will have the opportunity to attend a number of different sorts of projects:

  • Compulsory Projects: these are projects which directly relate to a course and may include an assessment which is part of your degree programme.
  • Recommended Projects: these are projects which have been designed for a particular set of students, but which may also be made available to other students across the School.
  • Open-Access Projects: these are projects which any student in the School of Engineering can sign up for.

The idea is that you should design your own ILW Timetable, making sure that you attend any Compulsory Projects you are required to attend, and then signing up for Recommended Projects and Open-Access Projects, depending on your availability and areas of interest.

Please use the links below to identify the activities you would like to select, and remember to sign up for your Recommended Projects and Open-Access Projects on WebCT.  Some activities will have limited numbers, so make sure that you sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.

WebCT Sign-up is available through the SEE Course Information Centre, and will close at midnight on Sunday 12 February.

If you have any questions about a particular activity, please contact the Project Organiser

If you have any general questions about Innovative Learning Week, please contact the ETO.

Any additional Projects added, or changes to ILW arrangements will be publicised on Twitter (#Eng_UoE_ILW).

We hope you enjoy our first Innovative Learning Week!
