Industrial Advisory Board

The Civil & Environmental Engineering Industrial Advisory Board has been in place since 2000. It is chaired by Professor Quentin Leiper, Chief Engineer with Carillion plc past president of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

It exists to promote links, communication and understanding between the University, the professional Institutions and Industry.

The IAB is an essential element of our ability to provide accredited engineering degrees which serve the needs of the industry, and to also steer us in undertaking valuable and relevant research in infrastructre and environment. Click here for the IAB objectives.

The Board meets annually - the latest meeting being on 23 April 2010. Click here for documents. The activities of the Board are also undertaken via its Working Groups and these meet at least once a year.

The Board is made up Senior Representatives of some of Scotland & the UK's major engineering organisations, together with the academic staff of the Discipline of Civil & Environmetal Engineering. The following organisations are some of those currently represented on our Industrial Advisory Board:
